FPT Japan Holdings Visits JUIDA — A New Step Toward Japan–Vietnam Collaboration in Next-Generation Mobility —
In the autumn of 2025, representatives from FPT Japan Holdings, the Japanese subsidiary of one of Vietnam’s leading IT conglomerates, visited the Japan UAS Industrial Development Association (JUIDA). The visit was made in connection with the recent establishment of a new Vietnamese government-led industry body, the Association of AMS Industries (AUVS VN), and aimed to learn from Japan’s advanced initiatives in the field of Advanced Mobility Systems (AMS).
Founded in 1988, the FPT Group has grown rapidly across a wide range of fields including information and communications, software, and education, and now employs approximately 80,000 people worldwide. The group has been a driving force in Vietnam’s industrial development, leading the nation’s efforts in digital transformation (DX), telecommunications infrastructure, and the operation of educational institutions such as FPT University.
The visit was related to the launch of AUVS VN (Association of Unmanned Vehicle Systems Vietnam) in October 2025. The organization is a government-backed industry–academia–government collaboration project that seeks to build a new industrial ecosystem centered on Advanced Mobility Systems (AMS), promoting human resource development and technological exchange. Supported by strong government leadership, AUVS VN envisions positioning Vietnam as a central hub for AUV industries within the ASEAN region.
From JUIDA, the Secretary-General and relevant staff members welcomed the delegation, providing an overview of Japan’s UAS industry and JUIDA’s various activities. FPT expressed strong interest in JUIDA’s decade-long achievements in education, industry promotion, and the establishment of safety standards. The meeting featured lively discussions on member networks, educational programs, and international collaboration.
FPT also shared its perspectives on promoting industry collaboration within Vietnam, as well as applications in urban development, logistics, and agriculture, and presented concrete ideas for human resource development. Both sides affirmed the potential for future cooperation between the Japanese and Vietnamese industry associations. The participants further expressed their hopes for continued exchange through seminars, business matching, and reciprocal visits.
Although this was the first direct meeting between the two organizations, the discussions were held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere, marking a meaningful first step toward deeper collaboration in the years ahead.
JUIDA will continue to foster international partnerships and promote the sound development and global collaboration of the unmanned aviation industry.
