JUIDA Managing Director Kakuya Iwata spoke at the ’Japan-Mongolian Aerospace Cooperation Symposium 2024’ held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
JUIDA participated in the Japan-Mongolian Aerospace Cooperation Symposium 2024, which was held jointly by JICA Mongolia and DX Mongolia on March 2, 2024 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. More than 20 Mongolian and Japanese speakers, some 100 local participants, and several media outlets, including the national television station, gathered from early morning until late evening, including those working remotely. On the day of the event, the outside temperature was below -18℃, but the venue was always overflowing with heat, reaching over 28℃.
In line with the theme of the symposium, “Data Collection Survey on Utilizing Inner and Outer Space of Mongolia,” each of the speakers on the day mainly gave lectures on how to utilize satellite remote sensing images in promoting space utilization in Mongolia and on developing human resources to utilize them. During the event, JUIDA Managing Director Kakuya Iwata gave a lecture titled “Drone Operation Regulation and Training, Flying Cars, Test environment” in the third part, and also appeared on the panel discussion after the third part.
In the middle of the symposium, Mongolia’s Minister of Digital took the podium and gave a lecture that from now on, even pastoralists, who make up half of Mongolia, will be able to make more active use of communication satellite data and drones by utilizing digital technology.
After returning to Japan, on April 11, 2024, JUIDA President Shinji Suzuki and Secretary General Tomoyuki Kumada visited the Mongolian Embassy in Japan, had met with his Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary BAYARSAIKHAN Banzragch, Ph.D., and had a wide-ranging exchange of opinions regarding the future role of drones in Mongolia.
JUIDA will continue to contribute to the development of the drone market in Mongolia with the help of MOU partner DX Mongolia.
