JUIDA INFO

In the summer of 2024, JUIDA signed an MOU with ASTM International, one of the largest standardization organizations in the world. Following this agreement, Teresa J. Cendrowska, Vice President of Global Cooperation at ASTM International, visited JUIDA for further discussions. The meeting was also attended by Philip Kenul, a former chair and current technical contact of the ASTM F38 Committee, which develops standards for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). Representing JUIDA, President Shinji Suzuki and all board members participated, engaging in discussions aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two organizations.

The discussions, while highly technical, took place in a constructive and amicable atmosphere, resulting in valuable insights for both parties. Key topics included knowledge sharing and addressing challenges in next-generation aviation technology and standardization efforts. Specific areas of focus were beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) operations, eVTOL aircraft, UTM/UAM traffic management, and meteorological standards, with lively exchanges on these subjects.
